Study on the Degradation of Ship Oily Sewage by Double-chamber MFC

Vol. 5, No. 7, pp. 7-17, 2025 DOI: 10.54691/8gbmqa18 July 29, 2025
Abstract. With the rapid development of the global shipping industry, the pollution of marine ecosystems caused by ship oily sewage is becoming increasingly severe, and the traditional single physical, chemical and biological treatment technology has problems such as high energy consumption, easy secondary pollution and insufficient degradation rate of emulsified oil in the treatment of ship oily water. Therefore, this study focuses on the application of dual-chamber microbial fuel cells (MFCs) in the field of degrading oily sewage from ships. The surface modification of carbon felt anode materials was … Read more →

Three-Dimensional Enhancement Measures for China's Natural Gas Pipeline Networks Driven by the "Dual Carbon" Goal

Vol. 5, No. 7, pp. 18-28, 2025 DOI: 10.54691/1scgsg15 July 29, 2025
Abstract.Under the guidance of "dual-carbon" goal, China's energy industry is accelerating its transformation, and natural gas, as a clean transitional energy, plays a key role in the energy consumption structure. Natural gas pipeline network, as the core infrastructure for natural gas transmission, has a direct bearing on the low-carbon transformation of the whole energy system in terms of its operational efficiency and the scale of clean energy transmission. Therefore, optimising the pipeline network is crucial to achieving the "double carbon" goal. Based on the background of "dual-carbon", this … Read more →

Determinants of Current Account Balances: Evidence from OECD Countries and the European Debt Crisis

Vol. 5, No. 7, pp. 29-38, 2025 DOI: 10.54691/w7bde388 July 29, 2025
Abstract. This study investigates the determinants of current account balances in 38 OECD countries between 2002 and 2022, applying a Difference-in-Differences (DID) approach to explore how the European sovereign debt crisis affected current account balances. The empirical model incorporates macroeconomic, fiscal, demographic, and institutional variables to identify key determinants of external balance. Findings reveal that the European sovereign debt crisis significantly improved the current account balances of Eurozone countries. Additionally, government expenditure and economic size negatively … Read more →

Analysis on the Effect of Transfer Payment on Environmental Governance in Xin'an River Basin

Vol. 5, No. 7, pp. 65-78, 2025 DOI: 10.54691/8x77r832 July 29, 2025
Abstract. The ecological environment plays a crucial role in human survival and development. Therefore, effective protection of the environment is an essential choice for achieving sustainable development. Our country has vast territory, and water resources are distributed in a complex manner. With the acceleration of urbanization, environmental and economic disparities between regions have widened, and conflicts of interest between upstream and downstream areas of river basins have become increasingly prominent. In recent years, to address water pollution in our country, to address the interests of … Read more →

The English Translation of Chinese Passive Sentences: A Case Study based on CET-4 Translation Questions

Vol. 5, No. 7, pp. 79-83, 2025 DOI: 10.54691/8kqp8982 July 29, 2025
Abstract. This paper analyzes Chinese passive sentences from the CET-4 translation questions (2015–2025) from a comparative perspective between Chinese and English sentence structures. Through categorizing and examining passive sentences with explicit markers and those without passive markers-so-called notional passive constructions-this study outlines their typical equivalents in English translation. The research finds that passive sentences with markers generally correspond to explicit English passive constructions (“be + past participle”), though whether to retain the agent depends on the sentence … Read more →
